The Masterpiece of Raja Ravi Varma: A Journey Through Art and Emotion” Set in 1889, the performance delves into the life of renowned Indian artist Raja Ravi Varma as he embarks on an artistic journey to capture the beauty and diversity of India through his paintings. The story focuses on II women from different regions of India, each representing a unique cultural heritage. Through his unparalleled oil painting technique, Varma immortalizes their grace and cultural richness on canvas, showcasing India’s vast diversity.

However, the performance is not just a celebration of art—it also reflects the emotional struggles Varma faced. Central to this is the tragic story of Sugandha Bai, a devadasi and his Mumbai-based model, who took her own life, leaving a profound impact on the artist’s life and work. 

Blending classical and folk-dance forms, including Kathakali, Kalari, Lavani, Garba, Ghoomer, Odissi, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Indo-Persian, and even Flamenco, the show creates a vibrant tapestry of movement, color, and culture. Enhanced by ornate costumes, rich props, and immersive lighting, the performance transports the audience into a world of visual and musical grandeur.

An instrumental symphony underscores the show, blending traditional classical music with contemporary sounds to deepen the connection between body and mind, drawing the audience into the emotional journey of Ravi Varma’s life.
